Mục tiêu: Xác định tỷ lệ và mối liên quan của nồng độ MMP-9, TIMP-1 trong huyết tương của thai phụ bình thường (BT) và thai phụ tiền sản giật (TSG). Nhận xét mối liên quan của chúng với một số triệu chứng lâm sàng chính của TSG. Phương pháp nghiên cứu: Nghiên cứu mô tả cắt ngang có đối chứng trên 240 thai phụ, chia làm hai nhóm gồm 120 thai phụ BT và 120 thai phụ TSG. Nồng độ MMP-9 và TIMP-1 huyết tương được định lượng bằng kỹ thuật ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay). Kết quả: Nồng độ MMP-9 huyết tương ở nhóm thai phụ TSG là 403,0 (207,6 - 794,1) ng/mL thấp hơn ở nhóm thai phụ BT là 608,6 (238,9 - 1212,0) ng/mL (p = 0,032). Nồng độ TIMP-1 huyết tương ở thai phụ TSG là 196,8 (125,0 - 272,9) ng/mL thấp hơn thai phụ BT là 225,8 (141,5 - 314,0) ng/mL (p = 0,14). Tỷ lệ MMP-9/TIMP-1 ở nhóm thai phụ TSG là 2,21 (1,39 - 3,20) và thấp hơn ở nhóm thai phụ BT là 2,83 (1,71 - 4,59) (p = 0,008). Nồng độ MMP-9 và TIMP-1 tăng theo độ tăng huyết áp (THA) với p < 0,05. Kết luận: Lượng MMP-9 và tỷ lệ MMP-9/TIMP-1 huyết tương của thai phụ TSG giảm hơn (p < 0,005). Nồng độ MMP-9 và TIMP-1 tương quan đồng biến với mức độ THA ở thai phụ TSG.
