PROGNOSTIC VALUE FOR EARLY MORTALITY OF THE BOS.MA2 SCORE IN PATIENTS WITH CARDIOGENIC SHOCK
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objectives: To evaluate the prognostic value for predicting 30-day mortality of the BOS.MA2 score in patients with cardiogenic shock. Methods: A prospective, retrospective, descriptive, longitudinal study was conducted on 70 patients with cardiogenic shock at the Cardiovascular Institute, 108 Military Central Hospital, from January 2024 to February 2026. Clinical and laboratory characteristics, as well as BOS.MA2 scores were collected. The association between BOS.MA2 and 30-day mortality was analysed using multivatiable logistic regression and the area under the ROC curve (AUC) analysis. Results:The mean age was 69.3 ± 17 years, with a male-to-female ratio of approximately 1.8:1. BOS.MA2 scores ranged from 2 to 6, with 92.9% of patients classified as moderate-or high-risk. The BOS.MA2 score was significantly higher in non-survivors than in survivors (4.52 ± 0.62 vs. 3.76 ± 1.01; p = 0.001). 30-day mortality rates increased with higher risk categories: No deaths in the low-risk group, 42.1% in the moderate-risk group, and 63.0% in the high-risk group (p = 0.023). BOS.MA2 was an independent predictor of 30-day mortality (OR = 3.11; 95%CI: 1.22 - 7.97; p = 0.018). The score demonstrated moderate prognostic performance with an AUC of 0.709; a cut-off value of ≥ 4 showed high sensitivity for early mortality risk screening. Conclusion: The BOS.MA2 score is a useful tool for risk stratification and prediction of 30-day mortality in patients with cardiogenic shock.
