STUDY ON THE ACUTE AND SUB-CHRONIC TOXICITY OF BA GIANG HARD CAPSULES
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objectives: To investigate the acute and subchronic toxicity of Ba Giang hard capsule. Methods: The acute toxicity of Ba Giang hard capsules were determined on Swiss mice. The subchronic toxicity of Ba Giang hard capsules were investigated on New Zealand White rabbits with the dose of 0.747 capsules/kg/day and 2.240 capsules/kg /day, the determination based on clinical, hematology test, biochemical and histopathology. Results: LD50 of Ba Giang hard capsules was more than the highest dose at which a sample can be administered 82.5 capsule/kg. Rabbits after treatment with dose 0.747 capsule/kg rabbit/day and 2.240 capsule/kg rabbit/day by oral for 28 days, rabbits are healthy, increase on weight. There is no significant difference between test groups and control group on the hematological and biochemical index. On histopathology of liver and kidney, there is no damage. Conclusion: Ba Giang hard capsules were not acute toxic and not subchronic toxic on animals.
