Publication Process
The publication process of the Journal of Military Pharmaco-medicine consists of the following steps:
1. Submission
Manuscripts are submitted by authors through the online submission management system at:
https://jmpm.vn/index.php/jmpm/about/submissions
2. Initial Screening
- The Editorial Secretary screens and evaluates submitted manuscripts to ensure compliance with the Journal’s policies on scope, subject relevance, formatting and structure, plagiarism/self-plagiarism, conflict of interest, and research ethics.
- Authors will be notified of the manuscript’s status as one of the following:
+ Rejected;
+ Requires revision before peer review;
+ Sent for peer review.
3. Peer Review
- The Editor-in-Chief assigns appropriate experts to review each manuscript.
- The Editorial Secretary sends review invitations to the selected reviewers.
- Upon acceptance, reviewers receive the anonymized manuscript and the review form through the journal’s online editorial system on the official website.
Each manuscript is reviewed by two independent reviewers under a double-blind process. The contents of the manuscript are treated as confidential, and reviewers must not share any information without prior authorization from the Editor-in-Chief.
- Reviewers submit their evaluation reports through their assigned online reviewer accounts.
Possible review outcomes include:
+ Accept without revision;
+ Accept with revision and re-review;
+ Accept with revision, no re-review required;
+ Reject.
4. Handling Review Outcomes
a. Both reviewers recommend acceptance
- The Editorial Secretary informs the author of the reviewers’ (anonymous) comments.
- The author revises the manuscript according to the reviewers’ feedback and submits the revised version, along with a response letter, within two weeks.
- If the author disagrees with any reviewer’s comments, the issue is referred to the Editor-in-Chief for decision.
b. One reviewer recommends acceptance, one recommends rejection
- The Editorial Secretary reports to the Editor-in-Chief to consider sending the manuscript to a third independent reviewer (maintaining anonymity).
- If the third reviewer recommends acceptance, the process proceeds as in section (a).
- In cases of conflicting opinions, the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision.
c. Both reviewers recommend rejection
- The Editorial Secretary informs the author of the review outcome. The manuscript will not be considered for publication.
5. Editing
- Once the manuscript has been approved by the reviewers and accepted for publication by the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Secretary assigns it to Editors. Editors then work closely with the authors to revise the article as required. Issue arrangement follows these principles: chronological order of submission and acceptance, thematic grouping, and article type.
- The Editorial Secretary compiles the manuscripts and accompanying materials (e.g., figures, images) and forwards to the designs.
- Designers will send the galley proof to the Editorial Secretary for review and correction (if needed), after which it will be forwarded to the Printing Revision Department in accordance with regulations.
- The Editorial Secretary presents the manuscript to the Editor-in-Chief for approval prior to publication.
6. Publication
- After final approval by the Editor-in-Chief, the issue is sent to print and published online on the Journal’s website on the 28th day of January, February, March, April, June, August, September, October, and December.
- Each printed issue contains approximately 200 copies, with about 300 pages per issue.
- The Journal is published 09 issues per year (including 08 issues in Vietnamese and 01 issue in English on April 28th).
- Publish special issues and thematic issues according to the specific tasks of each year.
