STUDY ON THE ANTI-HEPATITIS AND ANTI-OXIDANT EFFECTS OF TIEU U HOAN PREPARATIONS
Main Article Content
Abstract
Background & Objectives: Tieu u hoan (TUH) product is researched to support the treatment of liver cancer experimentally and clinically. This study aimed to evaluate the hepatoprotective aspect of TUH preparation. Methods: Conduct research to evaluate the antioxidant effect of TUH preparation on a model of liver damage with paracetamol (PAR), using a positive control substance, Silymarin. 50 white mice were randomly divided into 5 groups (10 animals/lot, 5 male mice and 5 female mice in each group). Evaluation criteria: Aspartate aminotransferase (AST) enzyme concentration 33.84%, alanine aminotransferase (ALT) in plasma; images of liver surgery. Result: TUH dose of 7.01 g/kg reduces aspartate aminotransferase (AST) enzyme concentration by 33.84%, alanine aminotransferase (ALT) by 63.62%, dose of 14.02 g/kg reduces AST enzyme concentration by 33.7%, ALT 42.03% (p < 0.05); TUH dose of 7.01 g/kg reduced the liver weight of mice damaged by PAR (p < 0.05); TUH doses of 7.01 g/kg and 14.02 g/kg showed the effect of reducing PAR-induced rat liver damage on macroscopic and microscopic liver images compared to the untreated control group. Conclusion: TUH has a clear liver protective effect.
