CHARACTERISTICS OF PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS ON X-RAY AND MULTI-SLICE COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY IN PATIENTS WITH AFB-POSITIVE
Main Article Content
Abstract
Purpose: To determine the characteristics of pulmonary tuberculosis on multi-slice computed tomography and X-ray in patients with AFB-positive.
Material and methods: 155 patients with AFB-positive were examined by X-ray and MSCT at Pham Ngoc Thach General Hospital from Jan. 2021 to Sep. 2022. The comparisons between findings on X-ray and on MSCT were perfomed.
Results: 155 patients included 72.9% male, 27.1% female, with an average age of 53.8±18.2 years old. Almost all segments and lobes were involved. The pulmonary lesions on CT were much more than that on X-ray. The most common images were nodules (89%) and consolidation (87.1%).
Conclusions: MSCT is helpful for detail providing characteristics of pulmonary tuberculosis lesions in patients with AFB-positive.
