Abstract

Lung cancer is the most common cause of cancer-related death worldwide. The majority of lung cancer patients are found to have metastases at the same time as initial diagnosis. Common metastatic sites in lung cancer are lymph nodes, liver, bones, brain and adrenal glands. Gastrointestinal metastases from primary lung cancer are rare, especially at the time of initial diagnosis. We would like to report such a rare clinical case. The patient came to hospital because of symptoms of bloating and digestive disorders. Colonoscopy showed ulcerative lesions in the cecum, which were biopsied and the pathological result was adenocarcinoma. The thoracic - abdominal CT images showed a tumor in the upper lobe of the left lung, and the biopsy of this lesion also showed pathological results of adenocarcinoma. Immunohistochemical staining results confirmed that the lung lesion was primary cancer and the cecum lesion was consistent with the metastatic origin from the lung.
