Abstract

Objectives: To review several clinical and laboratory characteristics of pre-eclamptic pregnant women compared with healthy ones at Hanoi Obstetrics & Gynecology Hospital from 6/2018 - 02/2023. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out on two groups of pregnant women: The group of pre-eclamptic women (202 pregnant women) and the control group (197 normal pregnant women). Clinical features and laboratory parameters of pregnant women were collected from clinical records into research records. Results: The mean maternal age, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, proteinuria, serum creatinine, urea, and uric acid levels, AST enzyme, and ALT enzyme of pre-eclamptic women were significantly higher than those of the control group (p < 0.001). The gestational age, birth weight, and albumin concentration in the serum of the pre-eclampsia group were significantly lower than those of the control group (p < 0.001). The edema, headache, and blurred vision rates of the pre-eclampsia group were considerably higher than those of the control group. The proportion of pre-eclamptic women with thrombocytopenia was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant with p < 0.001. Conclusion: There are differences in some clinical and laboratory indicators between the group of pregnant women with pre-eclampsia and the group of normal pregnant women.
