Abstract

Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) is a special mission of the Vietnam’s Level-2 Field Hospital in participating in the United Nations Peacekeeping Force. The overview is intended to present the procedure of MEDEVAC of the Vietnam’s Level-2 Filed Hospital at the South Sudan mission (UNMISS), including definition, request, authorization, operation and miscellaneous, and stipulates the responsibility and activities of parties concerned. MEDEVAC aims to ensure the correct systematic, timely, and safe evacuation of patients to the higher suitable medical facility for each case, to minimize the loss of lives and limbs, and to meet the requirements of the United Nations.
