MECHANICAL THROMBECTOMY IN MEDIUM VESSEL OCCLUSIONS
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objectives: To evaluate the results and safety of mechanical thrombectomy in medium vessel occlusions. Subjects and methods: A retrospective, descriptive cross-sectional study on 75 subjects of medium vessel occlusions treated by mechanical thrombectomy at Stroke Department, Military Hospital 103 from January 2020 to December 2021. Results: Primary occlusion 61.3%, secondary occlusion 38.7%; Occlusion site: MCA M2 segment 45.3%, M3 segment 33.3%, ACA 14.7% and PCA 6.7%; Complications: Subarachnoid hemorrhage 6.7%, intraparenchymal hemorrhage 14.7%; eTICI 2c-3 74.7%, mRS 0-1 at 90 days 54.7%. Conclusion: Mechanical thrombectomy has proven to be a safe, effective technique, contributing to reduce the rate of disability for medium vessel occlusions.
