IMAGING CHARACTERISTICS OF CHRONIC RHINOSINUSITIS ON COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY SCANS

Abstract
Objectives: To describe the imaging characteristics of chronic rhinosinusitis on CT scans. Methods: A prospective, cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 58 patients with chronic rhinosinusitis who were examined by CT scans at Military Hospital 103 from August 2025 to March 2026. Imaging characteristics were described, and the ostiomeatal complex obstruction was compared with maxillary sinusitis. Results: Maxillary sinusitis was the most common type (86.2%), with 82.7% presenting as combined maxillary sinusitis. Sinusitis usually appeared as partially solid on CT scans. Maxillary sinusitis was related with ostiomeatal complex obstruction. Conclusion: CT scans provide a detailed evaluation of chronic rhinosinusitis characteristics.
