A CLINICAL CASE REPORT: FORGOTTEN BILIARY PLASTIC STENT MIGRATION TO THE LEFT LIVER, COMPLICATIONS, AND MANAGEMENT
Main Article Content
Abstract
Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and biliary stent placement are common interventions for treating common bile duct stones or biliary strictures. However, if not monitored and removed in a timely manner, the stent may become a foreign body, causing serious complications. We present a case of peritoneal biliary infiltration and biliary obstruction due to common bile duct stones in a patient with a forgotten biliary stent that had migrated to the left hepatic duct. This clinical case serves as a reminder to raise awareness regarding compliance with monitoring and timely removal of biliary stents following ERCP.
