Abstract

Objectives: To evaluate the results of 1-point fixation osteosynthesis in the treatment of complete zygomatic fractures. Method: A prospective, cross-sectional, descriptive, longitudinal study was conducted on 74 patients who were diagnosed with complete zygomatic fractures, without complex fractures, treated by 1-point fixation osteosynthesis at the Department of Maxillofacial and Reconstructive Surgery, Military Hospital 103 from January 2024 to January 2025. Results:The common age range was 20 - 30 years old, male, mainly due to traffic accidents. Zygomatico maxillary complex fractures mainly belong to group III according to the Knight and North classification. The main osteosynthesis location is the maxillary zygomatic pillar; the commonly used surgical approach is the maxillary vestibular recess. Regarding aesthetic results, balanced cheekbones, good wound healing, good cheekbone X-ray results, good postoperative scars, good mouth opening, recovery of nerve function, and vision. Conclusion: Complete zygomatic fractures treated with 1-point osteosynthesis had good results in most cases of monofragment fractures.
