Abstract

Objectives: To evaluate the differential diagnostic value of hemorrhagic stroke (HS) and ischemic stroke (IS) of some clinical scales. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 1,742 stroke patients who were admitted and diagnosed at Military Hospital 103. Results: 333 patients (19.12%) had HS and 1,409 patients (80.88%) had IS. The sensitivity in diagnosing HS of the Clinical Stroke Scale (CSS) was 97.6%, the Allen score was 79.58%, the Tp.HCM score was 87.09%, the Sirijai’s Stroke Score (SSS) was 86.77%; the specificity of the CSS score was 90.28%; the Allen score was 92.05%; Tp.HCM score was 92.41%; SSS score was 96.95%. Conclusion: The diagnostic sensitivity of HS and the negative predictive value of the three scales, including CSS, SSS, and Tp.HCM, were higher than those of the Allen scale. The specificity, positive predictive value, and overall accuracy of all four scales were high.
