ASSESSMENT OF DELAYED WOUND HEALING IN KIDNEY TRANSPLANT PATIENTS AT MILITARY HOSPITAL 103
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objectives: To survey the rate and analyse risk factors for delayed wound healing after kidney transplant surgery. Methods: A prospective, cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 100 kidney transplant patients admitted to the Department of Transplantation, Resuscitation and Post-Transplant Treatment, Military Hospital 103 from July 2024 to April 2025. Results: The overall rate of delayed wound healing was 26% (26/100), of which the rate of wound infection was 7%. The rate of delayed wound healing in the group of patients with diabetes, acute rejection, postoperative bleeding, and glucose ≥ 11.1 mmol/L was higher than that of the good healing group (p < 0.05). The study also showed that a history of diabetes, acute rejection, use of ATG, and blood glucose ≥ 11.1 mmol/L were independent risk factors predicting delayed wound healing after kidney transplantation with OR of 2.97, 3.45, 2.3, and 2.87, respectively (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Risk factors for delayed wound healing after kidney transplantation can be detected after surgery. Strengthening postoperative monitoring and early intervention of recipients with such factors may effectively prevent delayed wound healing after kidney transplantation.
