FECAL PERITONITIS COMPLICATED WITH SEPTIC SHOCK, MULTI-ORGAN FAILURE, AND SUCCESSFUL RESUSCITATION TREATMENT: A CASE REPORT
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objectives: To report 2 cases of fecal peritonitis causing complications of septic shock and multi-organ failure. Methods: 2 cases of fecal peritonitis complicated by septic shock and multi-organ failure were successfully treated with resuscitation, colostomy, cleaning, abdominal drainage, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), corticosteroids, and broad-spectrum antibiotics. Results: From August 2024 to November 2024, there were 2 cases included in the study. Both patients received intensive care with mechanical ventilation, CRRT, broad-spectrum antibiotics, corticosteroids, and emergency surgery. The treatment period in the Department of Surgical Intensive Care lasted 46 - 47 days, and both patients survived and were discharged in stable condition. Conclusion:Through these two cases, we emphasize the effectiveness of a multimodal resuscitation strategy in the treatment of severe fecal peritonitis.
