Abstract

Objectives: To evaluate the impact of [¹⁸F]FDG PET/CT on staging and treatment planning of colorectal cancer. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 115 treatment-naïve colorectal cancer patients at Bach Mai Hospital and Military Hospital 103. Results: [¹⁸F]FDG PET/CT altered the treatment plan in 17 patients (14.8%): 3 patients (2.6%) had their treatment intent changed from palliative to curative, while 14 patients (12.2%) changed from curative to palliative. Conclusion: [¹⁸F]FDG PET/CT has a significant impact on the staging and treatment planning of colorectal cancer.
