Main Article Content
Abstract
Objectives: To study some factors related to falls in post-stroke patients during the sequelae stage. Methods: A prospective, cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 528 patients 1 month after stroke at Military Hospital 103. Results: The rate of falls in stroke patients after 1 month was 21.02%, in which slip and fall accounted for 61.3%; age ≥ 65 was related to falls after stroke with OR = 2.11; 95%CI: 1.22 - 4.83; using sedative drugs was related to falls after stroke with OR = 2.94; 95%CI: 1.71 - 7.37; hemorrhagic stroke was related to falls after stroke with OR = 1.82; 95%CI: 1.83 - 3.23. Conclusion: The rate of falls after stroke during the sequelae stage was 21.02%. Age ≥ 65 years, using sedative drugs, and hemorrhagic stroke are independent factors associated with falls in post-stroke patients.
