Abstract

Objective: Review of some factors related to the sugery for double- level lumbar spondylolisthesis at 175 military hospital.

Subjects and Methods: Retrospective description from 5/2020 to 12/2023, 30 cases of double- level lumbar spondylolisthesis were operated by transforaminal lumbar interbody fusionat at the Department of Neurosurgery in 175 Military Hospital. Evaluating some factors related to the sugery.

Results: 60% of patients had a surgical time from 120 to 180 minutes, only 10% of patients had a surgical time over 240 minutes. 53.3% of grafts were located in the middle third of the vertebral body and 46.7% of grafts were located in the anterior third of the vertebral body. 70% of screws were located at the upper edge of the vertebral body pedicle, and 30% of screws were located in the middle of the pedicle. The group of patients with age ≥ 60 had a higher rate of ODI at level 1 than the group of patients with age from 40 to 59, the difference was not statistically significant, p= 0.54. The group of female patients had a higher rate of ODI at level 1 than the group of male patients, the difference was not statistically significant, p= 0.17. The group of patients with grade I slippage before surgery had a higher rate of ODI at level 1 than the group of patients with grade II slippage before surgery, the difference was not statistically significant, p= 0.29.

Conclusion: Good screw and graft placement: 53.3% of grafts were located in the middle third of the vertebral body, 70% of screws were located at the upper edge of the vertebral body pedicle, and 30% of screws were located in the middle of the pedicle. There was no statistically significant difference in ODI index among groups of age, gender, and preoperative spondylolisthesis..
